2013 Trip - Day 13 - Saturday Tokyo Disneyland with friends

Saturday, September 1st

Rise and shine - it's another sunny and hot day in Tokyo! Today we would be visiting Tokyo Disneyland with Daisuke, Hiromi and the kiddies :) we got a little bit of a later start today because the baby was napping,  they asked us to meet them at the monorail at 10:00. It was SUPER HOT already.  I may look like I'm laughing in the photo below - but we were only laughing because we couldn't believe how hot it was - and we lived in Central Florida for 8 years!  So, we thought we knew a lot about August heat....not even close to how heavy the air was!

We made our way to Disneyland and Daisuke's son, So-Itchiro got to meet his first Disney character Donald Duck! It was the first time that Hiromi and the kids had ever been to Disney.

Good idea to stay hydrated little buddy!

When we went in the crowds were INSANE! Saturday morning at TDL in the summer....crazy!  All the wait times for rides were 90 minutes or more already.  A little much for a 3 year old.  So, Daisuke, Hiromi and So-Itchiro watched the castle show while Thomas and I strolled baby Nao into the air conditioned shops because it was just too hot for her outside.  It was so hot and humid out that the dark colored shirt Thomas was wearing was proving to not be the best choice so, we ended up buying him a Monsters Inc. t-shirt because it was white and 100% cotton!   After the castle show they wanted to go on Pirates of the Caribbean, so Thomas and I took the baby for a stroll inside the shops in World Bazaar so they could take So-Itchiro on a ride.

After Pirates, we all walked around together and did some shopping.  The crowds and the heat were both super intense, so we all decided to take a break.  Thomas and I went to Ikspiari for lunch and Daisuke and his family went back to their hotel pool.  By the way, Thomas and I never made it to the pool at the Hilton....because it was ¥3000 per person per day! I am pretty sure that didn't apply to Hilton Honors gold members, but we never did check.  Our room was nice and cool and comfortable so that was just fine for mid-day breaks.  We all met up again and went back to Disneyland at 7:00.  It had gotten extremely windy out, and as a result the electrical parade was cancelled --however, this announcement caused a mass exodus and we were able to get on a few attractions....and Hiromi and I did some shopping :) the last ride of the night was Its A Small World.

The park was closing and we all took the monorail back to Bayside station and said goodbye to our dear friends.  The next morning they were heading to Tokyo to do some furniture shopping for their new home and then catching their flight back to Fukuoka at 2:00.    It was so great to spend time with them.  We enjoyed their company so much.  We hope the next trip we can visit them  and see Fukuoka for a few days.

Next Post can be found HERE - Sunday, Day 14 Disney Sea and meeting Yoshie!
