2013 Trip - Day 15 Monday - Tokyo and checking into our next hotel

Day 15

Monday, September 2nd

Today I woke up feeling so sad.  We had to check out of our amazing Hotel - the Hilton Tokyo Bay, after lunch --and this meant that my trip was almost over already! It's crazy how fast this trip has gone.  I feel like I was planning it for so long and in the wink of an eye it was almost over.  After breakfast we took the train to Tokyo station and walked around and found ourselves back at Ginza.  Thomas wanted to go to the Sony building to check out the electronics so we walked over but it was closed until Thursday!

Enjoying the morning view from our room one last time

I love the crazy crosswalks in Tokyo.

We took our time walking around Ginza, of course I went into 0101 to shop one last time :( and then we walked over to Tokyo station and I found a vending machine with my all time favorite drink of Japan - Teas Tea! Daisuke thought this was the funniest thing - that I loved Teas-Tea so much.  We took our time going in and out of shops and headed back to Tokyo Station for the train back to Mahaima.

We ended up back in Ikspiari and we had lunch at Kua Aina.  OMG - the food is soo good here!  After lunch we re-explored the Disney hotels before heading back to the Hilton to check out at 3:00 p.m. - we had a late check out time because Thomas is a Gold Hilton Honors member.

We got back to the hotel just before 3:00 and grabbed our luggage (after packing up some new souvenirs) and checked out at exactly 3:00 and then we had an hour before our shuttle pick up time.  So, we just walked around the Hilton and then it was pretty much time to leave.  We took the airport limousine bus at 4:00 to our next hotel.  Actually we had to go to the airport and then take a free shuttle from the airport to the Hilton Narita. We only ended up staying at this particular Hilton because we used Hilton Honors points and so it was free.  The hotel was large and the lobby was really nice.  The rooms were MUCH smaller here however, it was immaculate and comfortable enough for the 2 nights that I would be here and the 3 nights that Thomas would be here.  Although the didn't have my TOTO toilets!  Just regular old everyday toilets.  We were definitely spoiled by the Hilton Tokyo Bay -- way nicer and much more modern than the Hilton Narita (expectedly).

These are "stock photos" from Hilton's website but this is EXACTLY what our room and the hotel looked like.
Nothing thrilling, but it was fine for the few days we stayed.

This "stock photo" could literally have been taken in the room we stayed in...I think that was our exact view!

After we checked in and dropped our bags in the room we took the free shuttle to the nearby Aeon Mall to find something for dinner.  We found an Italian restaurant and ordered brick oven pizza that was actually pretty good and pretty reasonably priced.  After dinner we looked around the mall and found our way into the Daiso store. Not anything like the one in Kyoto.  They really didn't have much in there and after picking up some water and snacks to bring back to the room we got on the shuttle back to the Hilton and called it a night!
